A REWARDER

Image
A REWARDER   Hebrews 11:4-7. Devotional:- "For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder, of those who diligently seek Him” (V.6)      Everyone involved in any kind of labor expects a reward. What motivates people into service or pursuit of life is the reward attached to it. It is embarrassing to see that most people labor for no reward, or rather their rewards don't often measure up to their service or input. This is the reason for frustration in the lives of many in the world today.

BE A BLESSING

Image
BE A BLESSING Scripture Reading: Mark 10:17-31 Devotional:- “Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all and followed You."”  (V. 28)      A wonderful way to remain encouraged is by being a blessing. To be a blessing means, you encourage others with what you have. To be a blessing, is to sow the seed of grace into the life of others. A great number of people just don't know what to do with their lives. They just need a little push to move forward in life. Someone need to part with his time, energy, money, gift and special ability to lift up others.

JOY COMETH

Image
JOY COMETH Scripture Reading: Psalms 30:1-7 Devotional:-  “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.” (V. 5)      Jesus has prophesied in His word that His children will have their sorrow turn to joy (John 16:20). This means, there shall be time of pains and sorrow. It is therefore, so important that we make up our minds to see our joy, no matter the situation.

YOU CAN

Image
YOU CAN Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:10-20 Devotional:-  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (V. 13)      As a result of the experiences of some people in this end time, they are already giving up their faith in God. Many are already joining the way of the world. So many don't want to wait for the Lord anymore. This is because they have no faith in God, so they have no faith in themselves either.

ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Image
ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE   Scripture Reading: Matthew 17:14-21 Devotional:-  “So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (V. 20)      Today the world is filled with impossible. This is due to having so many people who are not willing to operate by faith in the power of God. The power of God is the manifestation of the forces of heaven, carrying out assignment when a believer make a decree (Job 22:27-28). Men in their mind do not understand that the mind as great as it is can be limited without the influence of the spirit of God (Job 32:8)

FOR THE GOSPEL

Image
FOR THE GOSPEL Scripture Reading: Luke 5:1-11 Devotional:-  “and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."” (V. 10)      God made you to be a demonstration of His glory. The reason for this glory is that your life becomes a witness for Him (Matthew 5:16). When anyone is appointed as an ambassador of a kingdom, they see themselves as highly honored. This is because when you represent a kingdom, you are standing in for the king of that kingdom and you are regarded as the king. So it is with each of us that the Lord has sent.

MADE FOR HIS GLORY

Image
MADE FOR HIS GLORY   Scripture Reading: Isaiah 40:1-5 Devotional:-  “The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; For the mouth of the LORD has spoken." (V.5)      It's important you keep in your mind that God made you for His glory. It is important you keep this at heart that your life may bring honour to God. He said, His glory shall be revealed in your life and everyone around you will see it together (Isaiah 40:5). That is why you need to know that your life will at last fulfill the promises of God.

NEW PAGE

Image
NEW PAGE Scripture Reading: Revelation 5:1-10 Devotional:-  “But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."” (V. 5)      So many today are waiting to see the salvation of the Lord in all areas of their lives. You need to make up your mind to see the glory of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13). And you will see it.

PECULIAR

Image
PECULIAR Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 2:1-10 Devotional:-  “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;” (V. 9)      The faith of most Christians today is been challenged. Because of the event of the perilous time, many are slipping into ungodliness. Today like the previous times, the preacher of the word of God look like a laughing stock. It is therefore so important that you know who you are. If anyone has no strong identity with the Lord, he is bound to mingle and miss eternity.

IT’S NOT OVER

Image
IT’S NOT OVER Scripture Reading: Genesis 37:26-36 Devotional:-  “Then Midianite traders passed by; so the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt” (V. 28)      Sometimes in the life of a child of God, the enemy may look winning. But you need to settle it in your mind that the great one is in you (1 John 4:4). It may look like the promises of God has failed and may not come to pass again. But this is not true. Heaven and earth may pass away, but God will fulfill His word (Matthew 24:35).

HE WILL UPHOLD

Image
HE WILL UPHOLD Scripture Reading: Isaiah 41:8-15 Devotional:-  “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (v. 10)      Today, we live in a world where all manner of temptation flies around us. It is becoming a challenge to stand for the truth. The wrong is looking like right. Those who are holding on to the truth look so foolish by the popular view. Sincerity is sleeping away from the hands of so call Christians.

YES AND AMEN

Image
YES AND AMEN Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:15-24 Devotional:-  “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (V. 20)      We are living in the world where nothing is really sure. Everything seems to be unstable and unpredictable. This has really affected the faith of many. This has made some to think the word of God is no longer true.

NEW THINGS

Image
NEW THINGS Scripture Reading: Isaiah 42:1-9 Devotional:-  “Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them." (V. 9)      The way things are going for many today look as though there is nothing good to come again. The truth is that the end of the age is drawing closer each day. But you need to know that there are things God still intend to achieve through the life of His children. It is only those who can position themselves rightly that can find fulfillment of the word of God at last.

HE WILL MAKE A WAY

Image
HE WILL MAKE A WAY Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:16-21 Devotional:-  “Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea And a path through the mighty waters,” (V. 16)      Everyone in this world is bound to face one challenge or the other in the course of pursuing our vision and dreams. Many a time when we are face with difficulties, the devil will want to use the opportunity to intimidate us. The devil always wants us to feel that God cannot help us.

GOD IS ABLE

Image
GOD IS ABLE Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21 Devotional:-  “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” (V. 20)      All kingdom citizen need to know that their God is able to do all things. No matter how challenging our situation might be, our God can turn it around for good. We don't need to join in an ungodly life that many are living and celebrating now in the name of success. Because today, it looks like ungodliness is better (Psalm 37:9-11).

THANKFUL HEART

Image
THANKFUL HEART Scripture Reading: Luke 17:11-19 Devotional:-  “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" (V. 18)      One of the attitudes of encouragement is thankfulness. The reason many don't have a thankful heart is because their expectations is higher than what they are experiencing. They do not appreciate the place of gradual growth or growing by labour (Proverbs 13:11). Most people don't want to climb but jump. God can decide to bless us abundantly but we must thank Him for whatever He is doing in our lives per time.

ENCOURAGE YOURSELF

Image
ENCOURAGE YOURSELF Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 30:1-8 Devotional:-  “Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God” (V. 6)      One of the ways to be stronger than the resistance of life is to learn the act of self encouragement. This is a skills you must acquire. Simply because many times in this world, people are individually busy and are all facing their own business. So expecting people to always encourage you may not be realistic.

PRESENCE OF GOD

Image
PRESENCE OF GOD Scripture Reading: Psalms 16:1-11 Devotional:-  “I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved” (V. 8)      Another factor of encouragement is the presence of the Lord. When you are sure that the great God is with you in your journey, then you will be courageous. God has to encourage Jacob and assure him of His presence (Genesis 28:15). He did the same with Joshua (Joshua 1:5). God did this with many successful leaders in the word of God. You also need the same.

RIGHT COMPANY

Image
RIGHT COMPANY Scripture Reading: Act 4:18-31 Devotional:-  “And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them” (V. 23)    Another beautiful avenue for us to receive the seed of encouragement is by been in the right Company. A company is a group of people you regularly fellowship with. But it becomes a right one when they value celebrate you and among them they always share the words that encourages each other. The company is right because the people there are godly and wisdom focused. In such places, they shared the truth of the word of God and can be supported and corrected when necessary.

WISE WORD

Image
WISE WORD  Scripture Reading: Proverbs 23:1-11 Devotional:-  “Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words” (V. 9)      The knowledge of the truth that shows us the way out or the way forward in life always encourages us. This is because what punctured or leaked our courage is our unpleasant experience in life. So when we hear wise words, it reveals our weaknesses and the strength we need to acquire and show us the way of strength. This gives us hope and a way forward.

WORD OF GOD

Image
WORD OF GOD Scripture Reading: Psalms 119:89-96 Devotional:-  “I will never forget Your precepts, For by them You have given me life” (V. 93)      It is important we identify the seed of courage for our encouragement. The truth you must know is that, this world is full of seed of discouragement. Yet, it is only those who allows it that will destroy their courage in life. As a child of God, you must know what makes you stronger than the forces of this world. The main seed of courage for our encouragement is the word of God (Luke 8:11, Psalm 119:97-100).

BITTERNESS

Image
BITTERNESS Scripture Reading: Hebrew 12:12-17 Devotional:-  “looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;” (V. 15)      It is in the agenda of the enemy of God and man to drive everyone into bitterness of soul. This is because he knows that no bitter soul can enjoy a sweet life. Bitterness of soul is when a soul is filled up with all kind of negative and wrong information. This could be about people, event or a place. A person with a bitter soul assumes that everything and everyone is bad or wrong to him/her.

MENTALITY OF DELAY

Image
MENTALITY OF DELAY Scripture Reading: Proverbs 13:5-18 Devotional:-  “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (V. 12)      A strong weapon in the hand of the enemy to discourage many people is the mentality of delay. We don't always consider the God factor when we think of timing. Though we often don't have anything to do to alter divine agenda, yet we have delay mentality to explain it away. There is no one that feel delayed that will not be discouraged.

SENSE OF INCAPABILITY

Image
SENSE OF INCAPABILITY Scripture Reading: Judges 6:11-21 Devotional:-  “So he said to Him, "O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.” (V. 15)      Sometimes -we feel incapable. This is because of our different experiences of failure. In such experiences, instead of carefully looking at what was wrong, we conclude inwardly ‘we can't do it’. But looking at issues critically, we will see that we are the one who do not recognize the ability of God in us and develop it. The Angel of the Lord salute Gideon as a mighty man of valor. But Gideon was judging himself rather as incapable. This was because he saw the enemy stronger and saw his tribe smaller and weaker. He is already having a defeated mentality. But the angel was saluting him based on the ability of God he could recognize in Gideon. Friend, anytime you tell yourself you are not capable, you are not always right. Let us be careful of look

SENSE OF REJECTION

Image
SENSE OF REJECTION Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 10:1-11 Devotional:-  “When they told David, he sent to meet them, because the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, "Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return."” (V. 5)      There are some factors we have to be very careful about. This is because they are capable of discouraging us. To be discouraged is to be punctured or deflated of courage. To be encouraged is to put on or take up courage. It will therefore be wise to avoid whatever deflates our courage in life, so that we are not hindered of achieving the plan of God for our lives.

STRENGTH

Image
STRENGTH Scripture Reading: Judges 4:12-22 Devotional:-  “Then Deborah said to Barak, "Up! For this is the day in which the LORD has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not the LORD gone out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor with ten thousand men following him” (V. 14)      Man becomes encouraged when he is strengthened by a leader or a mentor. We become encouraged whenever we gain strength. This is because strength boosts our ability and makes us hopeful. It is therefore important we know how to gain strength. It is by studying the word of God (Proverbs 24:5). Wherever you hear the word of God, it will penetrates into your soul and drive your emotion to action (Hebrews 4:12).

GODLY ADVICE

Image
GODLY ADVICE Scripture Reading: Psalm 33:8-12 Devotional:-  “The counsel of the LORD stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations” (V. 11)      Another great factor of encouragement is godly counsel. All that the devil needs to make anyone fail is discouragement. So everyone must locate their place of courage to be able to succeed. Divine ability will always be renewed in our lives when we are connected to godly counsel.

SUPPORT

Image
SUPPORT Scripture Reading: 1 Chronicles 12:15-22 Devotional:-  “For at that time they came to David day by day to help him, until it was a great army, like the army of God” (v. 22)      When there is a good release of support to any one in life, such becomes encouraged. Help is therefore energy of encouragement. Whatever God has given you to do; you will enjoy the help and the support of God from now in Jesus name.

HOPE

Image
HOPE Scripture Reading: Job 14:6-14 Devotional:-  "For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease” (V.7)      A man is encouraged when he bounce back to hope. This is an act of reassuring ourselves of the promises of the word of God. We gain encouragement when we remember what the Lord is able to do in our lives. To be hopeful is to have a deep sense of expectations and assurance that what we are trusting God for will come

CONFIDENCE

Image
CONFIDENCE Scripture Reading: Psalm 18:27-39 Devotional:-  “For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall” (V. 29)      Confidence and courage are what bounce back into our heart whenever we are encouraged. Confidence is the act of gaining courage based on the assurance of the backing of God on our lives. As God’s kingdom citizen, we must know the way of our confidence. It is when we meditate on the testimony of the word and the power of God that we can gain confidence in Him.

COURAGE

Image
COURAGE Scripture Reading: Joshua 1:1-9 NKJV Devotional:-  “Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go” (V. 7)      A major virtue in the life of every conqueror is the virtue of courage. This is an act of having faith in one’s ability to face a challenge or situation. A timid can achieve nothing. That is why the word of God said, God has not given us the Spirit of timidity (2 Timothy 1:7). It is our meditation upon the testimony of the word of God that births courage in us (1 Samuel 17:36, Joshua 1:8).

ENCOURAGEMENT

Image
ENCOURAGEMENT  Scripture Reading: Isaiah 52:1-10 Devotional:-  “Awake, awake! Put on your strength, O Zion; Put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city! For the uncircumcised and the unclean shall no longer come to you” (V.1)      It's important that all God's Kingdom citizen knows that they must not joke with the issue of encouragement in their lives. Discouragement could frustrate anyone to death. Discouragement will make many turn to the way of the devil and miss their eternity with God. That is why we must not joke with the issue of encouragement. There is no one that cannot be discouraged but encouragement is bouncing back to courage. Discouragement is inability to draw from the energy of the spirit to drive into achievement of life.
