JOYFUL COMPANION

JOYFUL COMPANION  Luke 1:37-45 Devotional:- “For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy” (v.44) NKJV We must know that sooner or later, we will always look like the people we are moving with. God’s word says, he that walks with the wise shall be wise and the companion of fools shall be destroyed (Proverbs 13:20). This means that what we gain from the surroundings of our associates has a very strong influence upon our life. If a man walks with people who don’t know or appreciate joy, he may not also experience joy. We read about the visitation of Mary to Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist. Since two of them carry unique children of divine significance, they both have the Spirit of God in them. This brings about a joyful effect. As soon as Elizabeth heard the voice of Mary, the baby leaped for joy. You therefore need to understand that the richest place you need to seek to be is where God’s children are gathe...

A CLEAN HEART

A CLEAN HEART

PSALMS 24:1-6
DEVOTIONAL VERSE: “He who has clean hands and a pure heart,Who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false” (Vs. 4)

God who is the King of this kingdom has covenanted in His word to always answer the prayers of the citizens (Matt. 7:7) Prayer is basically the only way for man to commune with God and receive from Him (Jeremiah 33:3). It could be quite frustrating when we pray and do not receive any answer. One of the factors responsible for unanswered prayers is the state of our hearts.
Our heart is the link between our spirit and our body. As God loves to take over our hearts, the devil also want to do the same. When the heart is given to pleasure and worldliness, it will surely be taken over by the devil (James 4:4). The word of God says, for anyone to access God and receive answers to his/her prayers, such will need to have a clean heart.

A clean heart is a heart that is given to the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16). It is a heart that meditates regularly on the word of God and not on the words of the world (Psalms 119:9). A clean heart obeys the instructions of God always (John 14:15). It is a heart that loves the Lord. This is why you need to purge your heart regularly from the uncleanliness of sin and ungodliness (James 4:8). That way, your prayers will not be hindered. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to always clean up my heart before you

“GOD CAN ONLY ANSWER YOU ACCORDING TO THE STATE OF YOUR HEART”
