THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. UNFORGIVING

UNFORGIVING

MATT. 6:5-15
DEVOTIONAL: -“But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” (Vs. 15)

Whenever we can’t forgive our fellow brethren, we sin against God. It is very important for us to know that sin hinders our access to the answers of our prayers from the Lord (Psalms 66:18). An unforgiving spirit disallows the liberty of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. It also prevent God from perfecting His work in our lives.
Unforgiving is keeping someone in your heart because he hurts or offends you. It is holding back your love from such people which gives rise to hatred, bitterness and malice. The Bible instructs that we should not allow bitterness to spring up in our hearts for any reason (Hebrews 12:15).

There is no one who cannot be hurt. Sometimes, the hurt can be deeper at different occasions, yet we must forgive and let go as children of God. The reason is that, if we are unforgiving, God will not answer our prayers. It can get so bad that God will also not forgive us. When you don’t forgive a child, you put his reward as well as God's reward on hold. To learn forgiveness is to ask for the grace to forgive in prayers and to pray for those who has offended you (Luke 23:34). Whenever you pray for people who have hurt you, you’ve forgiven them (Matt. 5:44). As you do this, your prayers will not be hindered. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, give me the grace to always forgive people who offends me.
