FLOATING AXE

FLOATING AXE Devotional:- 2 Kings 6:1-7 “So the man of God said, "Where did it fall?" And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float’’ (V.6) NKJV  Sometimes when we read about some great wonders of God in the Bible, something makes us feel it was because the people were very special. But we need to know that they are men of like passion (James 5:17-18). They were just exactly like we are, but they were only men of faith. This makes God to work wonders through them. The sons of the prophet needed a big place of dwelling. So they decide to cut trees to make a new home. Thank God they requested that Elisha should go with them. As they were cutting the trees, the axe head fell into the deep river. And the man of God asked the Holy Spirit for what to do. The Holy Spirit was what they also depended upon, and there was a miracle. Friend, you also have the Holy Spirit. That stick is the word of God. Speak to the sinking situatio...

ASKING AMISS

ASKING AMISS

JAMES 4:1-6
DEVOTIONAL:-“You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (Vs. 3).

One of the reasons some believers ask and not receive is that they ask amiss. To ask amiss is to ask with a wrong or negative motive. Our intention cannot be hidden from the Lord. Though, we are human, God remains God. The flesh in us sometimes want to have worldly pleasures and it is not wrong. It is only wrong when it is contrary to the purpose of God because it becomes a sin afterwards.
Pleasure mentality makes a man irresponsible. Most of the sinful acts in our community today are perpetrated in the quest for pleasure. This is the reason why some people engage in extra marital affairs. The truth is that, as children of God, we are created for His pleasure as well as the things of the kingdom (Rev. 4:11).

Friend, always x-ray your motives before you ask God for anything in prayer, so that your prayers will not be hindered. Whatever you are asking for, whether in your life, family, work, church, etc. the motive should be to use it for the glory of God. Everything you do should be done to bring glory to God (1 Cor. 10:31). As you do that, your prayers will always be answered. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, help me to always have the right heart before you

“THE BEAUTY OF PRAYER IS THE ANSWER”.
