PERSISTENCE
Genesis 26:15-29
Devotional-“And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, "For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land."” (V. 22)
Until a man is willing to persist, creation of greatness is impossible. Those who are not willing to persist often give up and never achieving their goals. To persist is to be willing to continuously pursue your goal even when it is taking a long time. To persist is to give unrelenting efforts in the pursuit of a goal. That is why you need passion in your journey to success.
We saw the example of persistence in the testimony of Isaac. God instructed him to stay in Gerah. God told him not to migrate to Egypt contrary to his plan. Probably, he has even secured the visa, but at last he obeyed the Lord. In that time of famine, he had the revelation of planting and wetting through irrigation. So, he dug wells to get water. The herdsmen kept standing against him by quarreling with him over it. But he employed the mysteries of persistence. He kept moving to other places to dig and God was giving him water.
There is no one on the journey of creating achievement that the forces of the world will not stand against. That is why you must learn to employ the force of persistence. Don't keep changing profession or looking for easy one. There is no work that is easy. When you are labouring in the path of your passion, you have enough energy to succeed in it. So, persist in your pursuit. Anything worth achieving will demand your persistence. Don't give up and soon you will move up. Peace!
PRAYER: Lord, help me to identify my passion for my persistence
