MAKING GOD HAPPY

MAKING GOD HAPPY Numbers 6:22-27 Devotional:- “May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you” (V. 25 NLT) One of the goals of our life is to make God happy. This is because the goal of worship is to make God happy. A man can make God happy when he pleases the Lord in all His ways. Job was a man who pleases the Lord in his life time (Job 1:8). Noah was another man who also pleased God in his generation (Genesis 6:8). We are living for the glory of God when we live to make God happy by pleasing the Him. To make God happy, we must love Him supremely (Luke 14:26). No one loved us as God does. He knows what no one knows about us that is why we must love Him more than ALL. It is possible to love God supremely when we relate closely with Him (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 22:37-38; Genesis 6:9). To make God happy, we must learn to trust Him completely. Noah trusted Him and built an arc even on a dry land (Hebrew 11:7). Though, he had never seen rain before yet believed God and trusted Him compl...

MENTAL LABOUR

MENTAL LABOUR

Proverbs 18:1-4
Devotional:- Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom” (V. 1) KJV

In the life of many children of God today, the old serpent is still ruling. God’s word says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Most people do not know that God has given us a mind to labour with. Many Christians get so much involved in spiritual labour and now neglect that of mental labour. One of the great problem Christianity has today is that of people not getting involved rightly in mental labour. Let us look at it in two dimensions. This could be holding firmly only to your faith in the word of God and making it your mindset. This could also be sitting down to meditate on your business or project progress (Luke 14:28).

If you do not get involved in mental labour, there could be many constraints in life. So many things happen to us that God expect us to know what to do by thinking through the help of the Holy Spirit. God’s word says, “A fool has no delight in understanding’” (Proverbs 18:2). Today it looks as if more people are getting involved in mental labour. They sit down to think constructively about their lives. However, the truth is that no man can reach the level of God’s plan for him until he is involved in spiritual labour, yet we must also wake up to mental labour. Children of God should not be without a solution to situations (Matthew 5:14). Most of the solutions to our challenges and answers to our prayers will always drop into our mind. The prodigal son thought of his problem and thought his way back home (Luke 15:17-18).

Friend, it is time to labour mentally. If a man does not think what he has claimed in prayers may not manifest in the physical. It takes mental labour to transfer our spiritual labour into physical blessing. It is the mind that stands in between the spirit and the physical. Set time aside to think productively about your life and destiny. Start to think productively. Productive mental labour demands separation with a joyful heart and never in sorrow (Isaiah 12:3). Start to think progressively. And your life will not be the same again.

PRAYER: LORD, EMPOWER ME FOR POSITIVE THINKING.

“IN MANY SITUATIONS OF LIFE, A THOUGHTFUL MAN CAN THINK THROUGH”
