A FRIEND

A FRIEND John 15:9-17  Devotional:- “...but l have called you friends…” (V. 15) In this generation, it is not a common thing to find true friends. This is someone who goes all out to see to your well-being. Someone who wants to identify with you in all situations. Someone who is not feeling fine until he sees you, someone who daily remembers to pray and intercede for you. It can be a terrible thing sometimes when you desire to share your mind with someone, and no one is willing to listen to you, or someone who could offer a little help. Sometimes we could be in need of a little encouragement, but no one to really do it. The people who are supposed to encourage us are the ones who misunderstand us and condemn us. We need to come to the understanding that God is our friend. He is not just your Lord and God. He always wants to listen to you. He is not happy when you are not (Hebrews 4:15). DIVINE HONOUR

DIVINE HONOUR

1 Samuel 2:23-33
Devotional Verse - “Therefore the Lord God of Israel says:'I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.' But now the Lord says:'Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed” (V. 30)

Everyone loves to be honoured. But people need to know that honour is in degree. There is an honour people give to you because they know you, and those who do not know you may not give you the same honour. There is an honour people give because of your look. But there is another one that comes because of the person they see you with or the office you represent. When you stand regularly in fellowship with God, you earn divine honour. This is possible because you honour God to be in fellowship with Him and people see you manifest the glory of God.

God said, concerning the family of Eli that they ought to carry the honour of God forever. But because of their dishonour to God, He said they can no longer earn His honour. This is because the children of Eli do not know God. Their lives do not portray the character of God. The character of God is developed in the place of fellowship.

Friend, it is important that you honour God in been available in times of fellowship with Him that you may keep your place of honour. Create a consistent time to personally be with Him. Make your fellowship time in church a priority and God’s honour will be on your life. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always honour your fellowship

“HONOUR IS RECIPROCAL”
