There is nothing wrong in being careful. He that is not careful, will fall into many troubles. What Jesus is teaching us to avoid in life is the kind of care that makes us carry on our head what is wrong in our lives, and these all reflect on us. This is a level of anxiety. A careful man will observe his way and succeed, but an anxious man will be weeping in hopelessness. A careful man will avoid what can make him sick, but an anxious man will have a burden that produces sickness. The instruction of Jesus is therefore telling us to avoid carrying a burden of anxiety.
There is a thin line between carefulness and being anxious. How do we know it? Friend, whatever is within your power to do is what you can be careful in doing. When you are trying to do something above your capacity, you are going above your boundary. Our impossibilities should be released to God. For example, you are driving your car at high speed and suddenly your brakes fail; it is beyond your power. Ask God for what to do and don’t be afraid. He will direct you if your heart is calmly trusting in His saving grace, even in split seconds. The bible says cast your cares on him, for he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Stop carrying what we should trust to God. They are not your responsibility.
Prayer: Lord, help me to always trust in your careering
