AUTHORITY
Luke 10:13-24
Devotional Verse - “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (V. 19)
It is the level of fellowship a man has with God that will determine the measure of authority he will be able to exercise in life. Authority is not something that anyone can just handle. It is in the place of fellowship that God will be able to test us before He can entrust us with authority.
This is because it is beyond one person; it involves the participation of the forces to enforce the authority. That is why the Bible says we should not say we are sorry before the angels (Ecclesiastics 5:6).
Before God could hand over the scepter of authority to Moses, God had to bring him into fellowship first. Jesus only gives authority to His disciples and not the crowd. The truth is that authority are always delegated, so, before you can be trusted that you will not misuse it contrary to the expectation of the owner, you must have been in quality fellowship to earn that trust.
Friend, you need divine authority to gain dominion over the forces of this world. That is why you don’t see fellowship with God as unbelievers sees it. They don’t think of the power and the benefit, instead they think of money. At one time or the other, each one will face challenge. You need authority to overcome in such times. Peace.
PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace of fellowship for my authority.
“AUTHORITY IS ONLY FOR MATURE FELLOW IN THE SHIP.
