Discipline is the ability to subject or control oneself to do what is right, notwithstanding the situation or the challenges around. God cherishes people who can do this, and they will surely be delivered from the troubles.   Daniel was carried as a slave to Babylon, but he was not a slave in his mind. Many ar...

THE HEART OF WORSHIP

 THE HEART OF WORSHIP

Romans 6:1-14
Devotional:- “And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God” (V. 13)

Since worship is our first purpose on earth we need to know that worship will not be worship if we don’t surrender to God. So, surrendering is the heart of worship. In our world today, surrender sound negative. It could mean to give up or losing or admit your defeat. But it is giving ourselves to God not out of fear or necessity but in love (1 John 4:9-19). Three things often attempt to block our mind from total surrendering to God, fear, pride and confusion.

As kingdom citizen, please know it that you must learn to trust God. A woman will not be able to surrender to her husband if she does not trust him and so also you to God. To truly surrender to God, you must admit your weaknesses and limitations. That is when you truly want to ask Him to help you. Someone said, the reason many are still struggling with life is because they have not come to the end of themselves. To surrender to God does not mean to be passive or an excuse for laziness but it is sacrificing your life or been ready to suffer through the process to bring a change to your life.

Friend, surrendering is best demonstrated in an obedience and trust. A child of God who has surrendered to God, such will not be reacting to criticism or rush to defend himself (Mark 14:36). When people truly surrender to God, they experience peace and freedom (Luke 1:38). If you don’t surrender to God, you still surrender to either people’s opinion, fear, money, pride or resentment. Sometimes, it could take years for you to discover that you are victim of your own pride. Note that your decision to surrender to God will always be tested. So, make up your mind to totally surrender to God. Then you will really start to live. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, I need your grace to totally surrender to you
