PROTECTING YOUR CHURCH’S FAMILY

 PROTECTING YOUR CHURCH’S FAMILY

James 3:13-18
Devotional:- “Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace” (V. 18)

Understanding that the second purpose of God for man is to belong to the church family, there is therefore a strong need for you to protect the unity of your church. Unity is the soul of fellowship. Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than the church because he paid the highest price for it and He wants to protect it.

For you to be able to protect the unity of your church, you need to focus on what you have in common and not your differences (Rom 14:19). God wants unity and not uniformity. God made our differences and that should be respected. We must not let our differences divide us. To protect the unity of your church you must be realistic in your expectations from people. Don’t over expect. We need to give up the thought that the church should be perfect and admit that we all are not perfect people but people that wants to be perfected.

To protect your church you must choose to encourage rather than criticizing (Rom 14:4-10). It is the devils job to blame, complain and criticize, don’t join him (Revelation 12:10). Then refuse to listen to gossip. People who gossip to you will also gossip about you. (Proverbs 17:4, Jude 1:19). Learn to confront those who gossip about your church and your Pastor Thessalonians 5:12-13). Pray for your leaders, pastors, and not arguing but prayerfully teach harmony to destroy disunity. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the spirit of a peace maker.
