Some even condemn themselves and comment that God has left them. At such time many Christians just go about as though God is no more for them. SUCCESS AND YOUR PURPOSE

SUCCESS YOUR PURPOSE

2 Timothy 4:1-8

Devotional:- “And now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing” (V. 8) NLT

When a person turns to the Lord, invite Jesus to his/her life, and surrender to Jesus as Lord and saviour, then he/she sincerely becomes a Christian. This is the state many in the church has not attained. Many struggle to surrender their lives to the Lord because they are afraid of failure, not able to trust God to give them success, and their love for the things of this world (1 John 2:15-17). When you sincerely surrender your life to Jesus Christ, your view of success cannot but change.

Apostle Paul said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” (2 Timothy 4:7). When you start to live for God, your definition of success will change from materials to purpose. Living for the material achievement are temporal, but living in achievement of your purpose on earth gives you an eternal heritage with God. This is living to achieve the purpose for which you were made. As children of God, we should see all our pursuit as a means of bringing glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31). Our achievements should be used to help us to fulfill our purpose. This is fulfilling your destiny.

Friends, to achieve material success is normal for us as children of God. This is because we seek to bear the fruits of the Spirit which are the factors needed to acquire the worldly things (Galatians 5:22-23); This is because the grace of God will help us as we dream to achieve them (2 Corinthians 9:8); This is because, we are happy and contempt with what God has given us as we move from level to level (1 Timothy 6:6-10); So, we are living a joyful life. We are instructed to seek first the things that pertain to our eternity (Matthew 6:33). Our success therefore is fulfilling our purpose on earth. In this new year, seek to fulfill the purpose of God for your life and you will find the part of success both here and in eternity.

Prayer: Lord, give me understanding for my success

“WHEN YOU ARE LIVING FOR GOD, THE THINGS OF THE WORLD WILL LIVE FOR YOU”
