MEDITATION

MEDITATION Psalm 1:1-6 Devotional:- “But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night..” (v.2) NKJV      God’s word describes someone blessed because he/she meditates on the word of God, day and night. How can this be? The word of God is the source of inspiration that strengthens us to perform (John 1:1-3). The Bible told us that God is a spirit; therefore, meditating on the word of God is drawing on the strength of the spirit (John 6:63).

TESTING THE SPIRIT

TESTING THE SPIRIT

Scripture Reading 1 John 4:1-6
Devotional:- “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (V. 1) NKJV

Every time you are seeking to connect with the Holy Spirit for an inspiration, there will always be a direction. When this happens, don’t jump out yet, but test the spirit to be sure it is from God. If the Holy Spirit could speak through Peter and almost immediately another spirit used him, then all of us have to be careful (Matthew 16:15-23).

The word of God told us that the Holy Spirit will bear witness with our Spirit (Romans 8:16). So, it is not out of place that you are checking out by testing the spirit directing you.

To test the spirit, ask for a scriptural backing for the instruction. This is because God will not speak contrary to His word. To test the spirit, check whether you have peace or trouble in your spirit. God will always speak peaceably to you. In other words, His word will give you peace in your spirit man (Psalms 85:8). This is because the word released will agree with the Spirit of God in you. To test the spirit, you can let God sometimes confirm through others (2 Corinthians 13:1). This isimportant so that we can always be sure if it is an inspiration from God. Then, our testimonies will be sure. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to always discern your spirit
