GREAT REWARD Daniel 12:1-10 Devotional – Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever (v. 3) NKJV      Often time people think anytime we are given an instruction from the word of God it must be for the benefit of the Church or the Christian religion. It is important you stop thinking Christianity is a religion. What confuses people are not always lies but half truth. Half truth is still not the truth. The truth is that God is not into religion and Christianity is not a religion. It is a life of relationship with God. God always look out for relationship with man (Genesis 3:8; John 4:23). That is what He made us for. He wants to live with man forever (Revelation 21:3).

GO YE Mark 16:9-20 Devotional:- “And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (v. 15) NKJV      No matter how good we are or how educated we are about soul winning, it will not replace the act of going out to win soul. In fact without going the rest is a waste. That is why our Christian life will not be completed without our involvement in soul winning. You need to know that until you are ready to practically face the ridicule, you don’t become a miracle.

ENCOURAGEMENT James 2:14-22 Devotional"- “and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?” (V. 16) NKJV      Many times we have laboured over a soul and we tend to believe the Lord will take care of them. It is important we know that God will always work through the human vessel. That is why we must allow God use us to show care and encouragement to the soul that Christ has won through us.

DISCIPLESHIP Mark 8:34-38 Devotional:- “When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, "Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me” (v. 34)      Part of the Great Commission is for us to disciple the souls won to the Kingdom of God. The work of discipleship is to teach the convert the necessary doctrine and principles of Christ. It is taking them through series of teachings from meaning of conversion, to redemption, to character, to faith and love of God and love for the brethren. These include teaching them the covenant of the Kingdom of God.

FOLLOW UP Act 15:36-41 Devotional:- Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing. (V. 36)      Preaching the gospel is sowing the seed of soul winning. The souls won are the harvest but there is a need for continuous watering of the soul.  That is what follow-up does to the souls. It is returning to see to their growth and well-being. It is an attempt to make them have a company of care and concern.

APPROACHES Luke 10:1-12  Devotional:- "After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go". V. 1      There are different approaches through which we can have an outreach to win souls for the Lord. The approach to be chosen depends on the kind of people and the area we are reaching out to. Jesus says we should be as wise as serpent and as gentle as do (Matthew 10:16).

IN AND OUT 2 Timothy 4:1-5  Devotional:- "Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching". (V. 2)      True Christians don’t follow the instruction of the master only when it is convenient but as it is commanded. The assignment of soul winning is a commandment for every child of God (Matthew 28:19). Whether it is convenient or not, we are to preach the gospel as much as we have the opportunity. It could be in your community, your ways, your office or place of business. It could be in the school for a student.

DON’T ARGUE 2 Timothy 2:14-26  Devotional:- "But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife". (V. 23)      As we go out to win souls for the Lord, we must avoid going into arguments with people. It is not in the interest of the devil that souls are won to the Kingdom of God. So he will use some people to stir up arguments. That is why we must be of good understanding of how to handle such people.

OPEN YOUR MOUTH Psalms 81:8-16  Devotional:- "I am the LORD your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it".  (V. 10)      It is important we don't allow anything or anyone to intimidate us when it comes to going to share the gospel with people. We must not allow any form of excuses to stop us. Moses said I am not eloquent. The Lord said he will be with his mouth (Exodus 4:10-12). Jeremiah said I don’t know how to speak and I am too young, God corrected him (Jeremiah 1:6-8).

BE EQUIPPED  Psalms 119:92-104  Devotional:- "I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation".   (V. 99)      Every soul winner most equipped themselves for the assignment of so winning. Sharing the word of God is also communication.  That is why it will demand each one equipping themselves to be effective. When Peter spoke on the day of Pentecost, he did not prepare a sermon note but he must have been preparing by studying his Bible. That Bible verse he was quoting does not jump on him, so we all have to be prepared and equipped.

GRACE John 1:6-17  Devotional:- And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. (V. 16)      Grace is like the grease or lubricant that makes the metals running together to be void of friction. It makes the engine work without difficulties. It makes it void of noise. It makes the engine work together smoothly. The same with grace, it makes your assignment either of soul winning or your endeavours to run smoothly.

ENGAGE GOD Zachariah 4:1-10  Devotional:- "So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts". (V. 6)      To be able to win the soul of people unto the Lord, we need to learn to engage God. Human are spirit and it will take the spirit of the Lord to convict and save them (John 16:8). God is able to control the heart of people to wherever He wants (Proverbs 21:1). No matter how eloquent you are, only the Holy Spirit can convert the soul of people.

CHARACTER TRANSFORMATION Romans 12:1-8  Devotional:- "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God". (V. 2)      So many children of God still feel timid and not courageous to preach the gospel because they feel they are bad to people. They feel that people may not receive them because of their poor character before they believed. It is important we keep working on our character but that should not stop you from preaching to others. If God could use Paul, the apostle, then He can use anyone.

SUBMIT TO CHRIST James 4:7-10 Devotional:- “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (V. 7) NKJV      One of the criteria to sharing the gospel is that the gospeller must also submit to Jesus. God can use anyone but you will find more footing when you have also submit to Jesus before you can boldly convince others to come. The life of your Christian should be an example wherever he/she is. That is why Jesus called us the light of the world (Matthew 16:14).

CONVERSION OF SOUL Psalm 19:1-11 Devotional:- "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple". (V. 7)      The act of converting or soul is a very great task. None can boost to be an expert. This is because it is the work of the Holy Spirit. No matter how eloquent you are, it is the Holy Spirit that gives people light and understanding (Job 32:8). Jesus said the word is the word of the spirit John 6:63. That is why it is the word of God that is powerful enough to convert a soul

GREAT COMMISSION Matthew 28:16-20 Devotional:- " therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (V. 19)      Every believer is commissioned by Christ to preach the gospel. The mission of Jesus has become our mission as a believer. His mission on earth is to preach the message of the gospel on the earth and he commissioned us to do this. A commission in this respect is an assignment given to us by Christ as His children and that is how each one should take it.

ENGAGING THE KINGDOM Isaiah 11:1-10 Devotional:- "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD As the waters cover the sea. (V. 9)      It is the will of God that the gospel of the kingdom covers the whole earth. All humanity needs to come to the knowledge of the truth of the word of God. No one hates the truth; it is the devil that blinded the mind of people with religion that make many resist the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4). 

FREEDOM John 8:31-35 Devotional:- And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (v. 32) NKJV      Humanity have been so limited and blinded by what ought not. The forces of the enemy has taking so much advantage of man. It is so terrible to know that we are the one who cooperate with the enemy. That is why many are in the bondage of the devil.

DARKNESS TO LIGHT Isaiah 9:1-5 Devotional:- "The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined". (V. 2)      Darkness is the greatest problem of humanity. Darkness here represents blindness of the mind. This is the work and the activities of the devil (2 Corinthians 4:4). A mind that is blinded will not receive nor understand any good information you give to them. So they will be weak and not capable of rising.

TRAP OF IGNORANCE Hosea 4:6-10 Devotional:- "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children". (V. 6)      The trap of ignorance is a trap of refusal to learn. This is the most popular disease in the world today. The word of God says it is not good for a soul to be without knowledge (Proverbs 19:2). Yet many people do not know that human brain is born blank just like a brand new computer without installations. It is as good as not having a computer. It is what is installed into it that determines its functionality, so also is our mind.

TRAP OF SIN Proverbs 9:2:13-18 Devotional:- “But he does not know that the dead are there, That her guests are in the depths of hell” (v. 18) NKJV     People held in the trap of sin always become prisoners of their own habit. When people think they’re enjoying the pleasure of sin, the devil encourages them to continue till it becomes their habits. Habits are formed when people are doing something repeatedly till it becomes an action they can no longer control or stop. When anyone have a sinful and destructive habit they are set for destruction (Roman 6:23). The devil set every aspect of their lives in trouble of self-destructive motion. So they work their own way to the grave.

MAN NEEDS SAVIOUR Isaiah 19:18-24 Devotional:- “And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them” (v. 20) NKJV      A greater percentage of people in the world today are held hostage by frustration, discouragement and sorrow. They have tried within their capacity and have failed over and over again. So they have come to the conclusion that they cannot move. This is a lie of the devil. There is no life that cannot move forward.   The word of God says he has kept before us an open door and not a shut door (Revelation 3:8).

PAYMENT OF BLOOD Ephesians 1:3-12 Devotional:- In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (V. 7)      The word of God says without the shedding of blood, there would be no forgiveness of sins (Hebrews 9:22). The word of God says the bloods of animals are no more sufficient to atone for the sins of man before God. That was permitted as a shadow of what is to come in the Old Testament (Hebrews 10:1). Now Jesus has paid his own blood as the price for forgiveness and redemption.

DEATH OF THE CROSS John 1:29-36 Devotional:- “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”  (v. 29)      Jesus came to the world as the Lamb of God that was slain to carry away the sins of the world. The death of Jesus on the cross was as a sacrificial lamb. A lamb is always slain to take away the sins of people (John 1:29; Hebrews 9:22). Because of the love of God to humanity, He allowed the son to die in the place of man. The world needs to know this.

ETERNAL CONDEMNATION John 3:14-21 Devotional:- "He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (V. 18)      It is so important that each soul on the earth should be saved because an unsaved soul will live with eternal condemnation. This is because God has done so much and He is still doing it to win the soul of man (John 3:16). But if anyone neglects this salvation, he/she will be condemned eternally in hell (Hebrews 2:3). This is because they turn against the love of God and wasted the death and resurrection of His son.

DEAREST OF CREATION Psalms 8:1-9 Devotional:- “What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him’ (V. 4)      At creation God made all that man may need before making man. This is because man is the dearest of all creation. That is why man is made in the image and the likeness of God. In other words, man is made by the Spirit of God to have the traits of God. The purpose of this is because God wants to have His kind to fellowship with.  Goat fellowship with goat and dog fellowship with dog but God wants to fellowship with man, made in his image (Genesis 3:8).

OPENING THE PRISON Luke 4:16-22 Devotional:- "The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed” (V. 18)      Great volume of people all over the world is kept in the prison of sorrow, frustration, confusion, ignorance, fear and failure.   The gospel of Jesus is opening the prison doors for people in all of these problems. The prison keeper is the devil but Jesus has the key to open them all (Revelation 3:7).

RELEASING LIGHT Matthew 5:13-18 Devotional:- “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (V. 16)      Soul winning is spreading the light of God. It is bringing others out of darkness. It is releasing the power that sets free from darkness. Too many in confusion (Joel 3:14). So many are wasting away by the affliction of the devil (John 10:10). Too many are in deep sorrow and depression. All these are the activities of the devil over human life. It is the reason the Lord has saved you to be a light to the people in darkness.

ETERNAL PURPOSE 1Timothy 2:1-7 Devotional:- “who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the ttrut” (V. 4)      It is in the plan of God from the eternity past that all men and women will be restored to Him. God made humanity for Himself but the devil stole this relationship plan and take man away from the garden (Genesis 3:4-8). Since the time the devil stole this by tricking Adam and Eve, God have been doing all things to restore humanity to himself. Soul winning is therefore engaging self to be involved in the eternal purpose of God.

LET GOD USE YOU Isaiah 6:1-10 Devotional:- "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." (V. 8)      All that God wants to do in this world is to have man restored   back to Him. This is part of   His eternal plan (1 Timothy2:3-4). All of these are part of the agenda of God and He has ordain man to carry out this. He can save soul of men without the involvement of anyone but he has delegated this to humanity. So getting involved in soul winning is letting God use you to bring others to himself.

RESCUE FROM DESTRUCTION Matthew 1:18-23 Devotional:- “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins." (v. 21) NKJV      All humanity is walking on the path of destruction until they are saved. God made man for His glory, he’s made to be in charge and dominate the earth for God. Man is made in the image and likeness of God equipped to rule the forces of this world (Genesis 1:26)
