THE PAST

THE PAST Isaiah 43:8-21 Devotional:- “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.” (v.18) NKJV God, who gives us a memory, want us to use our past experiences to help us make quality decisions in the future, but the past is always the enemy of the future for many. If you don’t know how to manage your memory system of the past, it is capable of standing against your success in the future. As emotional beings, we are sometimes faced with the challenges of memories of our past experiences, our errors and failures. You will observe that at every point of decision-making to progress, the enemy will bring back to your memory the past experiences of your failure. This is just to bring fear to your heart and make you doubt the possibility of your success, so you could lose your joy. The scripture we read today instructs us to let go of the past. THANKFUL HEART

THANKFUL HEART

Luke 17:11-19
Devotional :-“Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?" (V. 18)

One of the attitudes of encouragement is thankfulness. The reason many don't have a thankful heart is because their expectations is higher than what they are experiencing. They do not appreciate the place of gradual growth or growing by labour (Proverbs 13:11). Most people don't want to climb but jump. God can decide to bless us abundantly but we must thank Him for whatever He is doing in our lives per time.

The ten lepers that came to Jesus were all cleansed by the power of God, but only one out of the ten came back to thank the Lord. Jesus took notice of it and blessed him.

Friend, anytime you are feeling like thanking the Lord, express yourself to Him. Even when you don't see any reasons to do that, yet give Him thanks (1 Thessalonian 5:18). When you have a grateful heart, you will always stay encouraged. We should stop waiting for manna but love to labour to experience His power. If there are expectations yet to be delivered, God isn't at fault, so thank Him for the ones He has done, the one He is doing and you will find courage to receive the coming one. Peace!

PRAYER: Lord, give me a thankful heart.
