A HEALER

A HEALER Isaiah 53:1-10  Devotional:- “...the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His strips we healed.” (V. 5) It is of great importance to know that the love of God for us brought our healing. When people are sick, it takes careful, loving treatment to bring them to their healing. Sickness itself is a product of sin and a by-product of condemnation and frustration. When Jesus came here on earth, one of the things He dealt with on behalf of man was sickness. Before Adam and Eve sinned, there was no record that they were sick like the same with other patriarchs. This is because these people walked in the righteousness of God. They walked in uprightness of mind with God. So the devil can't afflict them with any form of sickness. When Adam and Eve sinned, the land was cursed for their sake (Genesis 3:17-18). The fruitful plant was removed for the thorns and thistles. Medical research proved that most sicknesses come to the human body through what we eat. Sin, there...

COMFORT

COMFORT

Isaiah 61:1-11
Devotional Verse:- “To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified” (Vs. 3).

Mourning as it applies to the teachings of Jesus in Matthew 5:4, is a feeling of being inadequate in spirit. Anyone ‘mourning’ feels that he has missed a virtue in God that must be regained. Such a person feels that he is missing something of great value. However, God is always out to extend comfort.

In today’s Scripture, we can see the prophesy that was given about the ministry of Jesus and the assignment He had to carry out in the world. Jesus declared this manifestation in Luke 4:18-19. He came to comfort us and take away our mourning. Mourning in Zion applies to anyone facing a tough time but still remaining in Christ. You must remain in Christ no matter what you are going through. This is because it will lead to your comfort in the long run.

This is one of the factors of God’s blessings that make one end in joy and comfort if one remains in Christ. Keep your feet in Christ and you shall be comforted beyond your imagination in this coming year. Keep looking unto Jesus as the author and the finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). As you enter into the New Year, you and your family shall be comforted in Jesus name. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, comfort me in your mercy this year in Jesus’ name.
