  SPIRIT OF JOY Galatians 5:16-26 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness” (v.22) NKJV For all men to experience an ever-flowing joy, we must first possess the spirit of joy. God is the source of joy. When He is in a man, He brings His joy along (Psalm 16:11). Since God is a Spirit, He can only be with men by dwelling in them. When the spirit of God dwells in a man, he will experience unlimited joy. One of the most neglected exercises in the church is people receiving the Holy Spirit. Most Christians look for one excuse or the other to neglect the Holy Spirit in their life. Sometimes people feel the Holy Spirit is not that necessary. Some people feel it is an old way of following the Lord. But you need to know that if you lack the Spirit of God, God’s word says that you are none of His own (Romans 8:9). THE SECRET PLACE Psalm 91:1-16 Devotional:-“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (v. 10)      A major tragedy in the world today is that of sicknesses. This is actually a part of the prophecy for the end time. The word of God reveals to us that perilous time shall come (2 Timothy 3:1). We all can testify to it that the perilous time has come. As much there is an agenda of difficult time for the world, but there is better plan of God for His own people (Jeremiah 29:11). RESIST THE DEVIL 1 Peter 5:5-11 Devotional verse: “Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world” (v. 9).      A major responsibility you have towards the devil is to resist him. You have nothing to do together with him than to cast him out. Whenever you sense his activities, the Bible didn’t tell you to fear him or beg or appease him but resist him (James 4:7).

BE STRONG Ephesians 6:10-20 Devotional verse: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” (v. 10)       The nature of the kingdom of God demands that every citizen should be strong. Those who takes their place in this kingdom takes it by force (Matthew 11:12).             This is because the kingdom has unrepented and un-relented enemy call the devil (1 Peter 5:8). That is why you cannot afford to be weak as a Christian. We must wake up and be strong in our faith in the word of God (Ephesians 6:16).

COMMUNION TABLE John 6:50-59 Devotional verse: “Then Jesus said unto them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you” (v. 53)     It is important that believers come to know that the communion table is for our healing. The word of God says, the life of every flesh is in their blood. (Lev. 17:11). So, the communion is taking the life of Christ by faith in the word of God.

THE BLOOD Exodus 12:21-28 Devotional verse: “For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you” (v. 23)      God has given us the blood of Jesus as part of our instrument of healing and deliverance. The blood is the house of the spirit and life of Christ (Leviticus 17:11). It is only when you have the blood of Jesus that the life of Christ is in you (John 6:53-54).

THE ANOINTING James 5:13-18 Devotional verse: “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord” (v. 14)      In the word of God is the anointing for our healing. The anointing oil is one of the emblems of our faith; it represents the power of the spirit. God’s word says, when someone is sick, let him be anointed with oil and prayer of faith will heal the sick. The oil is an emblem of the Holy Spirit.

BEWARE OF SCIENCE 1Timothy 6:11-21 Devotional verse: “O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings, and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge” (v. 20)    God is the author of all forms of wisdom, including Science. Science is using our natural discovery of nature to solve human problem. God told Adam, have dominion over all things and subdue them (Genesis 1:28). In other word, use them for your advantage. Because of this grace given to man, many have thought that there is no need for God any more. Thinking all solution can come from nature through science.

FAITH Act 3:11-21 Devotional verse: “And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know: Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all” (V. 16).      A man of faith operates in the power of God. Faith is the act of stepping out to confront your situation according to the revelation of the word of God. Faith is not just an assertion of your acceptance of the word, it is far more than that. Without faith it will be impossible for anyone to resist the devil (1 Peter 5:9).      In the scripture we read today, Peter said, faith in the name of Jesus has healed the lame man (Act 3:16). Faith becomes active in a man when the spirit of the word of God has come into him. (John 10:34-35). The Spirit of the word of God makes of a quick understanding (Isaiah 11:3). REDEMPTION Luke 1:67-75 Devotional Verse:-“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people.” (V. 68).    The word redemption means a purchase from the slave market. This is because by sin, every man is under the slavery of the devil. (Romans 6:16), Jesus came to pay the price of our redemption by His blood when He died on the cross of Calvary. THE WORK OF THE CROSS Isaiah 53:1-12 Devotional Verse: “But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by His stripes we are healed” (V. 5).      It’s important you understand that this world is built to follow the law of the spirit. (Isaiah 46:10). Whatever is written in the word of God is the law of the spirit and life (John 6:63, Romans 8:2). The devil is always a deceiver and a liar (John 8:44). Though it was the curse that was put on Adam and Eve that brought the spirit of sickness, the devil has been doing so much to persist by inflicting people with the punishment of that curse even when God forgives (Genesis 3:15-16).

HEALTH IS YOUR HERITAGE Exodus 15:22-27 Devotional Verse:“And said, If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, give hear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that heals you” (V. 26)     One of the major challenges in the life of man is sickness. These have been an instrument of the devil to afflict man since the curses in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:17-19). WRONG FEELINGS    Mark 5:25-34 Devotional verse: [29] Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction (v. 29).      One of the instruments the devil uses so much against the strength of many is our feelings. God’s word says, my people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). The woman we read about today experienced positive feelings after she received her miracles. Most people are always having negative feelings.

EVIL COMMUNICATION Mark 4:21-25 Devotional Verse: “Then He said unto them, “Take heeds what ye hear: with the same measure you use, it will be measured to you: and to you who hear, more will be given” (V. 24).    So many people do not understand the nature of their creation. Just like our body feed on physical food, so our spirit and mind feeds on information (Deut. 8:3). It is our five senses that are the doors to our mind and into our spirit. Almost all the things that happen to man come through information. Information is the vehicle through which the spirits are transferred from person to person (2 kings 2:15). This therefore calls for a caution.

EVIL IMAGINATION 2 Corinthians 10:1-6 Devotional Verse: “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (v. 5) KJV      One of the strongest virtues God made with every man is the ability to imagine. This is the ability to form images of what has been before. This simple virtue is a major instrument that God uses in creating. That is why people say, “If it is conceivable, it is receivable”. This weapon is a spiritual weapon. Through it, you can be in a place and your spirit can be in another place. God gave us, in order for us to create like Him. (Hebrews 11:40).

EFFECT OF SIN 1 John 3:1-10 Devotional Verse: “He who sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil” (V. 8).      Man need to come to understanding that sin gives a legal right to the devil over a life. God’s word which is the covenant of God with human says whoever that sin (i.e. sinning) is of the devil.  Sin open door to the devil in the life of man while righteousness open door for God. Sin will chase away the presence and the grace of God from the life of man (Romans 6:1). Until a man gives his life to Christ and turn away from the life of sin, devil will keep having a rite of passage over his life.

FEAR

FEAR I John 4:17-19 Devotional Verse:-“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love” (V. 18).      For the devil to achieve his goals of afflicting humanity with sicknesses of all kind, he uses some virtue that we need to wisely expose. (Psalm 89:22). One of such attitudes he uses to trick man into sickness is the attitude of fear. The devil has successfully packaged himself in such a way that man will think it is normal. The word of God we read today says, fear has torment. The torment of fear is all kind of sicknesses and pain. Job said what he is greatly afraid of has come upon him (Job 3:25).      Friend, faith is the opposite of fear and just like faith move the power of God to action, so also fear move the power of devil to action. ORIGIN OF SICKNESS Genesis 3:8-19 Devotional Verse: “To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you” (V. 16).      The word “Pain” was mentioned in the bible for the first time in Genesis 3:16. This was when the first affliction of sickness was released on the sons of men. When God made the first man at creation, there was no record of sickness and pain. They were not creatures of weaknesses. They were made to be healthy forever. Don’t forget they were made like God. (Gen. 1:27). God is a healer and He cannot be sick. (Exodus 15:26).

And today people are beginning to think that fruitlessness is a defect in the creation of man. So, most people are beginning to count it as natural to be fruitless. But we need to ask ourselves if there were defects in God's creation. Why should it be that it is only in human we often find such defects? How many goats or dogs have you found barren? Are we saying the same word of God spoken that brought the creation of all things has failed on the side of humans?  If you accept it as your lifestyle, it is your choice.

COURAGE Joshua 1:1-9 Devotional:- “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
