DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES

DISTANCING FROM THE SCRIPTURES Deuteronomy 8:1-11 Devotional:- “To teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD” (v.3) NIV      The word of God is the bank of our strength in God. The word of God is the strength of God (John 1:1-3; Hebrews 4:12). Through the word, God had done all He had done. God’s word says, without Him, nothing else was created (John 1:3). When a man, therefore, distances himself from the Word of God, such is distancing himself from his source, He will lack the strength of God.

IDLENESS

IDLENESS

1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
Devotional verse: “that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands as we commanded you” (v. 11)

It is often said, that an idle hand is the devil’s workshop. When a heart is not occupied with a meaningful assignment, then it’s bound to take junks. There is no vacuum mind, a mind is either occupied with positive or negative activities.
Idleness is a function of lack of vision and focus. One of the reasons some have become terrible is that they are idle. Our scriptures today teach us to work and be busy in our assignment. We are to determine needed actions for our success and be busy following it. Living in idleness creates room for the enemy to interfere in your affair. Every child of God ought to be running on a vision.

In the realm of the spirit, idleness is a dangerous thing. Jesus gave us a parable that when the devil is casted out, he looks for an idle place to stay (Matthew 12:43-45). He will then go to take seven more spirit with himself, and then the end of that man will be terrible. Idleness makes you receive all manner of comments not meant for you. Identify your vision, keep pursuing it, and your life shall be full of great happenings. Peace!

Prayer: Lord, make my life busy for your glory.

“WHAT YOU DON’T USE, YOU WILL LOOSE”.
