LOVE DEFINED I John 4:7-11 Devotional:- “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love” (V.8) NKJV Today, many people have been put into great trouble simply because they are looking for love. Since the nature of man cannot enjoy living without a lover, everyone searches for one wholeheartedly. If you find anyone who says he doesn’t need love from anyone, he is not sincere. He will soon find himself in desperate need of love. Since love is a universal need, men always seek for it, and most people never find it. There are quite a lot of things men term love, which are not, and has inturn misled and confused them. Until you can define your need, you may not have them met. This necessitates the need to truly define love. The scripture we read today gave us the true meaning of love. And you will be wise to embrace the word of God. It said, “God is love” (1 John 4:8). LOVE HIM SUPREMELY           

Matthew 22:34-40
Devotional -“Jesus said to him, "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.'”’ (V. 37)



    For us to be able to worship God effectively demands that we love Him supremely. To love God supremely means, He is higher than all men and all things in your life. Praise goes beyond singing or playing instruments. It goes beyond dancing and clapping of hands. It spring right from our heart. So, the state of our heart is so vital, if our praises will be acceptable to God. That is why Jesus said, we must worship God in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

    The word of God says, we should love God with all our heart, our soul and with our entire mind. Then, we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. God’s love must be vertical and that of man horizontal. So, the love of God in our heart must be different from the dimension at which we love men. It must be far greater than it all. To love Him supremely means you are willing to drop human offer to obey and praise Him. 

     The level we place God in our heart determines the state of our heart in worship. Our praises must be from a heart of true love. We are commanded to love Him and allow His love to determine our thinking, our decisions and our actions. This is the true act of praises. In this, our praises can be strong enough to bring God into our situations. Peace.

PRAYER: Lord, plant the seed of your love in my heart.

“LOVE IS THE FOUNDATION FOR TRUE WORSHIP”

MASTER’S MINAS Luke 19:11-27 Devotional:- “So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, 'Do business till I come” (V. 13) NKJV      The word of God instructs us to do business. The Bible did not advise us to do business but it commanded us. That is why it would be wrong for you and me to be without a business. That makes idleness a crime against self (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Business is whatever you are doing to earn income. God will not accommodate idleness with anyone because He invested heavily in us.

Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (V. 9) NKJV      A major reason why many people are weak is because their level of courage is so low, that it cannot sustain them through to success. So they easily give up when faced with challenges. There is need for us to understand that there is no action that will not attract a reaction. So the only answer is courage.
